LOUIS FUTON - KEVIN'S HEART FT. BELLAH, BXRBER & ARMANI WHITE

I can't even begin to describe the size of the smile that spread across my face when I saw there was a new one from one of my favorite artists to date, Louis Futon. Everything the Philly-native touches turns to pure gold. Take his latest work, a cover of J. Cole's original, “Kevin’s Heart,” for example. There’s really no other way to characterize the rework than as a certified JAM.

Collaborating with the gifted minds of Bellah, BXRBER and Armani White, LF takes the popular R&B single and spins it into his own funk-driven interpretation, roping you in immediately with an infectious beat that is signature to his brand. The rhythm is complimented with a jazzy, emphasized take on the melody of which is shaped through an amalgamation of crisp, futuristic synths. J. Cole's verses also receive a makeover through the honeyed, harmonizing vocals of Bellah and BXRBER, while Armani White packs in the heat with his very own lyrical lines. Just hit play and you’ll realize within seconds that one listen will not be enough to satiate your ears.

I love it when Louis Futon gets dirty. As one of my favorite producers over the past few years, I have seen this Philly producer get nasty with this low end, and it's pretty much the best thing ever! He's been putting out a bunch of really great flips lately, and last week he dropped this super sexy remix of "U Rite" by THEY. Louis Futon has been doing something really cool on his socials. He's been asking his fans to make suggestions on songs he should sample to make beats with, and then making the beats live ... showing us the whole process. Then he's posting the full song so we can all enjoy it's greatness. It's pretty fuckin great to be honest.  It helps those jabronis out there who make statements like "electronic music producers are not real musicians" get a clue. For his second installment, Louis Futon crushed this flip of "Solo" by Frank Ocean.  I expect nothing less than greatness from this legend, Louis Futon constantly blows my mind with this sweet jams! ZHU - GENERATIONWHY (LOUIS FUTON REMIX)

It's almost 5am and I have not been to bed just yet - so deciding to blog at this moment might not be the best idea - but I've been listening to this jam all day, and as I come home from a fun night of work and play with another successful show in the books, I'm back listening to my homie Louis Futon, do what he does. I am a huge fan. I've only done one show with him, a boat party which was pretty great, and I have really been trying to have him back on another one of my events ever since .... but timing is off. Soon tho, I'm make it work. Yesterday he dropped his yummy remix of "Generationwhy" by ZHU, and once again he blows my hair back with his funky future style. Louis Futon has a gentle elegance about his music, it seems to flow effortlessly from his heart. Only spending a handful of hours with him 16 months ago, I did learn a bit about his charming character. I am convinced he has no idea how good he is, but then actually knows exactly how good he is ... if that makes any sense. Love this track - you guys need get into this one!  

GOLDLINK - UNIQUE FT. ANDERSON .PAAK (LOUIS FUTON REMIX)

Our homie Louis Futon is back at it again! This Philly producer has been making some of our favorite tracks over the past few years, and I often drop his name when people ask who they should be listening to. His new remix of "Unique" by Goldlink ft. Anderson .Paak is a brilliant mix of future beats, hip-hop and soulful R&B. This one has some serious groove too ... I love it! Louis Futon impresses the shit out of me really - he's so diverse and crushes every sound he takes on, and you can tell he pours every ounce of himself into this music. LOUIS FUTON - WASTED ON YOU (FT. ROZES)

I can definitely re-tell the story of the first time I heard this track - last 4th of July stuffed into my friends car with Louis Futon and JackLNDN after my boat party in Long Beach - but really we've all heard it and well, maybe I want to focus more on the track than my story behind it ..... who am I kidding tho, it's a great story! This track blows me away as much as it did last summer when I was sitting in that car thinking .... fuck this is really really good. Yesterday Louis Futon dropped "Wasted On You ft. Rozes" via Foreign Family Collective and the world can finally feel the awesomeness that I did ..... because wow!  Swoop this one on iTunes HERE!
